Achmanam



We start the Havan/Yagya by seeking the blessing of god. We do Achmanam Mantra for seeking bleesings.

    " Om shan no devir-abhishataya,
apo bhavantu pitaye,
Shamyo- rabhisravantu nah " 

Meaning - O, Gracious , Radiant , Omnipresent God, our homage to thee for leading us to our desired goal of attaining perfect bliss and showering Thine blessings upon us.

Achamanam, that is, sipping of the water with the above mantras, one sipping for each mantra, will remove all the ills of the body-and mind. This is called  Namatrayividya  or the worship with the three names, which will cure all diseases, physical and mental.

Indriya-Sparsh Mantra

   

(Take Water in your Palm,and after Sipping water thrice , touch your corner of lips from right to left ( when reciting "OM VAK VAK") , touch your corner of nostrils (when reciting "OM PRANAH PRANAH"),touch your corner of eyes (when reciting "OM CHAKSHUH CHAKSHUH "),touch your corner of ears(when reciting "OM SHROTRAM SHROTRAM "),touch your Navel ring (when reciting "OM NABHIH"),touch your Heart(when reciting "OM HRIDAYAM"),touch your throat(when reciting "OM KANTHAH"),touch your  head (when reciting "OM SHIRAH"),touch your shoulders, again right to left (when reciting "OM BAHUBHAYAM YASHOBALAM "),touch your knees (when reciting "OM KARAL KARAPRISHTE ") )

Meaning - O God, , my organ of Speech, Respiratory system, eyes, ears,navel,heart, throat,head, both arma and back of hands , legs may become vital and strong.


Marjanam Mantra

"Om bhuh punatu shirashi,
Om bhuvah Punatu netrayoh,
Om svah punatu kanthe,
Om mahah punatu hridaye,
Om janah punatu nabhayam,
Om tapah punatu padayoh ,
Om satyam puntau punah shirasi,
Om Kham bharma punatu sarvartra "

Meaning -  O Omnipresent Lord , Purifier of brain , disperser of suffering , and bestower of eyes, blissful and purifer of throat, great and purifier of heart, creator and purifier of hand, O, True and rightous Lord, Homage to thee for purifying feet. O embodiment of Truth, again beseach Thee to purify head, O Omnipresent and supreme being - Purify all parts of the Body.



Pranayam Mantra


Meaning - O Lord, Thou art Life breath and O, dispeller of isries, greatest of all blissful creator of all, just and embodiment of Truth.
